More Charleston

Charleston South Carolina

Charleston is an interesting mixture of history, beautiful old homes, hidden gardens, luxury, low country cuisine
and southern hospitality. We had a wonderful time exploring the city, walking down narrow alleys, peeking over wrought iron gates, walking in the graveyards and trying out fabulous low country cooking.

TJ and the Madison's

We had a great visit with TJ, James M and Dolly. Our country is fortunate to have had such great men. I enjoyed American History 101 in Virginia. Monticello and Montpelier were beautiful, but I was jealous of the land and gardens. TJ shared a little of his herbs with us.

Halloween Trick or Treating

There were hundreds of kids, parents and candy on Capitol East in DC. The homes were decorated and ready for neighborhood kids and more from all over DC. Parents were in costume as much as the children, one family was the Wizard of OZ characters, very creative and fun. Dorothy was very popular, imagine her with heels and cleavege. We wandered around DuPont Circle looking for interesting costumes and found girls in high heels, skimpy costumes, swords, etc. Then we came across a group picketing The Church or Scientology, very scary. Happy Halloween!

The Day Before Halloween

The day before Halloween there was a big celebration at Eastern Market for families. Hundreds showed up with little fairies, princesses, and assorted super heroes. My favorite was Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat. I do wonder what he is saying to the super hero. Nice muscles? Everyone had fun on the hay ride too. DC is the place to be on Halloween and the day before!
